Judge:
Kelly Lewis
Thanks to Margaret & all at West of England BCC team for the very warm
welcome. Special thanks to
Val Long who at late notice stood in to steward for me. As a first time Judge, Val put
me and the competitors at ease and made this a very enjoyable day. Also my thanks go to Jill Davis
& her stay team. Without
clubs like these; who are well supported by their members, our sport
would not survive. Very
many thanks to you all!
Although a bit cold and breezy the day stayed dry for us and we
were not kept waiting so finished quite early. My places went to:
1st
IVY FLYER
Flay & J Shore Fabulous dog
accurate heelwork, well motivated with a lovely attitude, this dog will
certainly hold his own in Novice.
Congratulations
2nd
SPANJAC WIZZY WOO
Izzy & J Mayo
Izzy always gives her best and
tries so hard for Mum, she is a little star and makes me smile every
time I watch her. Shame about the lumps in the
grass Very well done
3rd
‘K’ OTIC ‘K’ OS
Zac & N Freeman
Again a dog with lovely attitude, very
good set exercises, only clear recall of the day. A few bits to tidy and see you
in the top spot. Good luck
for future shows.
4th.
KONA STORM IN A TEA CUP
Kona & L.Thomas I like this boy a lot; he has bags of
enthusiasm and drive, very good set exercises. I am sure you are heading for
greater things.
5th
LAETARE MADE IN HEAVEN
Treelo & C Brutto
A lovely little bitch who tries very hard for her Mum. I know she also does well in the
breed ring for you.
Best wishes for future show
6th
PAB BRYN TY WATCHING THE GAME
Buddy & H.Warren
Buddie is a very
happy boy who is eager to please, a little naughty,
chomping his dumbbell cost a
higher place. I am sure you
are a team to
watch
Judges Special
went to Danny and his Mum J.Shore.
What a lovely boy, you turned your round into a very constructive
training round and this young man went into overdrive with attitude to
die for
I would like to mention 2 just outside the cards. Joe and Mum G.Garner. One destined for higher classes
with some of the best heelwork of the day and great attention; it’s a
shame Mum misheard our steward and missed the last two legs of heelwork,
both hol and hf. Also
Smudge and Dad. A.Dando.
Again lovely neat
and tidy heelwork, but lost many marks for playing with dumbbell, better
luck next time.
NOVICE
Judge: Jan
West
Thank you to Marg for inviting me to judge at this very popular West
Country Limit Show. My
steward, Vicky Norton to whom I must give my thanks for making the
competitors entering my ring feel comfortable and for her faultless
stewarding all day, were made very welcome with bacon butties for
breakfast, a beautiful home made lunch and tea and cakes at the end of
the day. Thanks also to
Jill Davies and her stay stewards, to Mandy Garstang who stepped in to
table steward for me—it does make the judging job easier, and I have to
say her maths was impeccable.
Now to those who went home with the widest smiles.
1st
Mr. L.Jury & EISELMAN NAUGHTY BUT NICE GSD—this is Lee’s
new
bitch and one I predict will reach top honours in her career. Good
attitude to her work throughout.
heel on lead was faultless and two very small errors off the lead. Good clear recall with a little
hitch in the retrieve.
Congratulations and good luck with her in 2011
2nd
Mrs.E.Warren & COCOBOLA SINGING THE BLUES FOR
SHAMOREL BC—another nice bitch which gave her all in the
ring. Clear heel on lead
and few minor errors off the lead, a good clear recall
and just a very small hiccough in retrieve. Unlucky to meet the above today. Well done and good luck in 2011
3rd
Mrs.R.E.Perkins & POLLY’S PERRY PHILOU X—little bits and
pieces throughout all the exercises caused the loss of marks today;
those lost in the set
exercises were off centre presents and these can be put right very
easily throughout your winter training.
Well done.
4th ARO Mrs.P.Dixon & PAULHANS MUFFIN
GR—minor errors throughout the round caused loss of marks but you
had beautiful attention throughout and a very willing partner in the
ring. I am sure you will be
able to put right those little mistakes that happened during your winter
training. Well done on
winning the run off
5th ARO Mrs.E.Egerton & MYSTIC
MADNESS BC—marks lost on your heel
work both on and off the lead were mostly for your turns. Off centre
presents in both recall and
retrieve cost the loss in those exercises. Well done.
6th ARO Miss A.Petitpierre & KULLA
PAINTED LADY Pem.Corgi—
apparently this was this little dog’s first time in the ring and she
turned in a very good round. Beautiful attention throughout
the heelwork and whilst there was
a bit of drifting in heel free she never stopped trying. A very good clear
recall and just an off centre present in the retrieve. Don’t be so nervous Ann
because you can really do
well with her. Well done.
Judges Special
to Jacqui Mayo & SPANJAC WIZZY WOO—what a super little dog this
was and she earned her rosette with her sheer exuberance and enjoyment
of what she was doing. What
a little star.
CLASS ‘A’
Judge:
Amanda Beardshaw
Many thanks ot the WOEBCC for asking me to judge at this lovely show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and
we were made to feel very welcome, not just by the Committee but the
competitors as well. My
thanks also to Carol and Pat who did a brilliant job of keeping things
on track with their stewarding and keeping score. We got through the first 6 dogs
rather quickly as only one worked NFC, but after half an hour the
competitors started to arrive.
You all handled your dogs very well and it was nice to see happy,
motivated dogs working and enjoying it.
Keep up the good work and I hope you all do well next year. Many thanks to all
1st
Mrs K.Auton & SAARTJIE NEW VENTRE A lovely dog, well
handled with a few little wide in heelwork, I know you were pleased with
the result Well done
2nd
Miss L Webster & RAXMAE MOLLIE This dog certainly has
attitude and enjoys working.
I think her wiggily bottom is coming under control slowly. A lovely round, well handled. Well done.
3rd
Mrs. D. Thomason & CROFTLAND SPIRIT
Again another well handled dog.
His retrieve let you down for a
higher place today by sitting crooked.
Well done.
4th
Mrs. E. Warren & COCOBOLA SINGING THE BLUES FOR
SHAMOREL This bitch has come on
lovely after her litter of pups.
Her heelwork was a
bit loose today but I’m sure you will sort that out.
Well handled.
5th
Miss A.S. Read & SEASPIRITS LUNAR ECLIPSE Unfortunately scent and
retrieve cost you today.
Sort this out and you’ll do well.
Well done
6th
Mrs.R.E.Perkins & POLLY’S PERRY PHILOU Bad luck on your
scent.
A few wides in heelwork, but
good handling. Well done.
Special Mrs C Fifield
& ARLILS LIBERTAINE
A few wides in heelwork and I think Libby forgot what she had to do in
scent but you were patient and got here.
Well done
CLASS ‘B’
Judge:
Sue Benstock
Thanks to Marg & all at WEBCC for your hospitality. Special thanks to Pete
Auton for once again giving up his day to do such a fab job of guiding
the competitors so professionally as always. To Jill Davis and her stay team
and Stacey Harris our decoy—thanks guys!
It was lovely to see so many friendly West Country faces today. The weather was dry but with a
bitter, blustery wind which played havoc with scent. We had some really good,
constructive training round (Michelle and Devon, Jenny and Button, Carol
and Widgeon) and some super teams who for one reason (mostly send-away)
or another didn't make the line up today. A couple definitely worth a
mention were John and Astra and Dinah and Bobby. Those with the
happiest smiles were:
1st
BEKWEY DAYDREAM BELIEVER AT MARMIK Mac & Margaret
Harrall -
Spot on send-away, strong, accurate heelwork and finished with a
great scent. Congratulations
2nd
TALLYGOLD GALDRIEL
Amber and |Lynne Webster.
Fabulous dog, teamwork at its best, but Amber taking the scenic
route to back marker was
VERY expensive today.
Nevertheless a joy to judge.
Well done.
3rd.
MARMIK MIDSUMMER PHANTOM
Ozzie & Margaret Harrall.
Send-away and scent were costly for Ozzie today, but two top
places speak volumes for your training.
Very well done.
4th
ARLILS LIBERTAINE
Libby and Chris Fifield.
Lovely Libby tries so hard for your mum, her heelwork was
generally good with a nice straight
position, but I wondered if perhaps she was uncomfortable in her hindquarters
as she was very careful when sitting.
Inadvertent body signals
by Chris caused a further loss of points, but very well done on
your place.
5th
SAARTJIE NEW VENTURE
Purdie & Kim Auton
Excellent heelwork from
this neat team, but unfortunately Purdie was distracted by another dog
close to the send-away, but redeemed herself with the only clear scent
of the day. Many congratulations on winning A today, your face was a
picture.
6th
DUNNSYLANE JENNIFER ECCLES. Jenny and Lynne Humble. I loved this little merle, she’s
so keen ad happy and Lynne handles her beautifully, a
tad naughty on scent &
send-away, buy lovely heelwork.
Well done.
