NOVICE JUDGE: TRISH HARTFIELD
Thank you to W of E BC Club to judge at their very well run show, and for their hospitality, and to Danielle and Chris for stewarding and scoring for me today. The weather was kind to us, just a bit nippy. I had a big class for a limit show 59 entries with 48 booking in and just 5 training rounds. Well I say training round but I think only one actually trained, the rest just seemed to work the round with no input whatsoever. Oh well their decision and money.
I must say besides my line up and a handful of others the standard was very poor a lot of dogs would have struggled in pre beginners, but all handlers were pleasant. Results were:-
1st Skyvanna Aquarius BC D Martin losing 1. This was a lovely quiet round, nothing flashy or exaggerated about this dog, he knew his job and did all that was required, lost .25 on each exercise all for crooked sits, get these sorted and he will be out of novice soon, well done.
2nd Hydegate Sophie WS F Grigg Losing 1.25 A lovely dog who held an excellent heelwork position, looked like she loved her work, very quiet handling got the best out of her. Again crooked sits taking most of the marks, again, cant be in this class for long on today’s performance
3rd ARO Cotsdean Nell. BC H Woodcock Losing 1.75 This girl did a beautiful round very eager and wanted to get on with it, thought her eyes would pop out of her head in retrieve she was so keen to go and get the dumbbell, but she contained herself long enough not to anticipate, just little bits to tidy up but should have a good future.
4th ARO Tilleys Lamplight Dream WS L Dewar Losing 1.75. Just lost the run off for deviation in retrieve, but initial round was nice, just odd bits of weaving lost most of the points
5th Pollys Perry Philou Munsterlander x R Perkings Losing 2. Took a little while to get into heelwork where most of the marks were lost but halfway round got his act together and put in a nice round, handler getting the best out of him well done
6th Dunnslayne Jennifer WS M Humble Losing 2.25 Just bits and pieces adding up, nothing in particular, but a nice round.
My dog of the day had to be Mr.A.Seymour with TOSARI PERFECTMOMENT BC Worked a brilliant round but broke the sit stay, this dog is absolute powerhouse of a dog and such a pleasure to watch.
